Me, and David Lee Roth...It was more than just a "brush with greatness." There were some rubs, gropes and a few tickles, too;-)
We never meant for it to happen, but the reality is that when two dynamic, talented, beautiful people get together, sparks fly. We both appeared on the Jon Stewart Show on MTV in May of 1994. After we finished taping the episode, David Lee presented me with a dozen wilted roses, and a basket of kasha knishes...and he said, "These represent what will become of me if you walk away, my love. Stay with me Baklava...You, me, and a basket of knishes to sustain us."
Oy, did I swoon! Van Halen, Van Shmalen...I had to have the pretty blond boy with the wild eyes and wilted...roses!
There were lots of pictures taken that night, (God bless you Mr. Polaroid!)but these are the only ones I can share. After I broke it off with David Lee, he was devastated, and though I will always love him--much the way Whitney Houston loved Kevin Costner, we were not meant to be. But I will never hurt my sweet rock and roll has-been.
I call these shots
"Prelude to Knishes and Passion."
